Langasite - Lanthanum Gallium Silicate (La3Ga5SiO14) is a multifunctional crystal. Because of the effect of optical rotation , it can be used in electro-optic Q-switch. Crystro also supply electro-optic Q-switch made by LGS . It also can be used as piezoelectric materials ,mainly applied in fabrication of SAW (surface acoustic wave), BAW (bulk acoustic wave) devices and sensors .The devices made of LGS crystal could work at high temperatures up to 900℃ because of its high thermal stability.
