1. Introduction :
The free-space optical isolator is a passive optical device based on the Faraday effect of magneto-optical crystals that only allows light to propagate in one direction in the optical system. It can effectively reduce the external cavity feedback of the diode laser system and cut off the reflection of the free space fiber coupling. At the same time, the stability of the optical system is increased, feedback is eliminated, and damage to sensitive optical components is avoided. Free-space isolators can be divided into polarization-dependent and polarization-independent categories, and are widely used in various optical systems and equipment.
