Tb3Ga5O12 (TGG, terbium gallium garnet) has the advantages of high Verdet constant, low transmission loss, high thermal conductivity, high laser damage threshold, and easy growth of large-size crystals in the visible and near-infrared regions. It is the best magneto-optical material used to make Faraday rotators and isolators in 400-1100nm,(excluding 470nm-500nm), widely used in YAG, Ti-doped sapphire, and other multi-stage amplification, ring, and seed injection lasers.
